Wednesday's with Charlotte.....

Instead of "Tuesday's with Morrie" I should write a book entitled "Wednesday's with Charlotte" it would be a page turner!!

Usually I go to Charlotte's to play on Wednesday afternoons, but this week the City was coming to certify that our new Air Conditioning Unit had been installed to code!!  So I brought Allison and Charlotte to my house so that they could get out, Allison could have a little bit of a break, and so that I would not miss my time playing with Charlotte!!

She was too cute as always.....and she really liked this picture book I made of her it was kind of funny to see her reaction to reading and looking at the pictures of that book!!!

Oh, fun, here is grandma's stash of books....

Hey, look there's a book about me.....

I wonder if it tastes good.......

Now grandma is reading it to me.....

It's a real page turner.....

I would like to just jump off this bed.....

but my mom won't let me, even though
I am very determined....

O.k, I'll just stand here and look cute for
pictures.....

Love having my girls around!!  Wish some of them were closer (yes, that's you Anne Marie), wish some of them were not at Day Care (yes, that's you Aileen) but I understand!!  I just hope they all know how much I love them!!

Here she comes to save the day........

When you saw that title to this post did the melody to the Mighty Mouse Cartoon run through your head????  It did through mine, but then I'm old and remember the Mighty Mouse Cartoon!!  Of course in the cartoon version of that song its......"Here he comes to save the day...."

Wednesday night I got a call from my brother George and my nephew Tytan because he needed to write a poem for school the next day!  A 20 line poem about a memory.  And George said he had no idea how to help him write a poem.

So I asked Tytan what was one of his favorite memories and he said that going to New Orleans for a Basketball tournament!  I asked him questions about what they did and he told me he ate crawfish for the first time, they bought matching t-shirts, they walked down Bourbon Street, etc.  Then I started helping him put these events into lines of a poem!  I think it turned out pretty cute and he was happy with it.

Now this is nothing compared to what my sister Elizabeth does for my brother's boys......nothing at all, but when I can help, I'm so glad that they call!  I'm always happy to do what I can!  Love you Tytan!!

Yes, I am that grandma......

Yes, I am that grandma that wears Holiday shirts and sweaters with matching earrings (Jack-o-lantern earrings)!!  I kind of like being that grandma and for now Charlotte likes it, some day she may be embarrassed, but for now she is not, and I never really thought I would be that woman....but I am!!  I learned at Time Out For Women today that because I am a Grandma I am doing double duty, raised my children, but still helping and loving them, and now loving on and sharing my testimony and helping when I can and when needed with their children!!  A double duty that I gladly take on and feel so blessed to be able to!!  I feel like I'm finally in the Halloween mood!!

How this all started is my girlfriends came over to visit with me while I was up late at night finishing my assembly work so I could turn it in the next morning and one of the girls had on this t-shirt!!  Then I had to get one....Walmart, here we come at 3:00 am.... and I really never thought this would be something that would float my boat but it does and I'm loving it.

P.S. at Time Out for Woman today, all the old grandma type ladies loved my shirt and earrings lol!!....I have moved over to the senior citizens side....and I'm o.k. with that!!

There is finally a marker.....

There is finally a marker on Mom's grave!  Because Dad bought his plot at the same time he bought Mom's it took a little longer to get everything paid for....and they won't let you put a headstone on the burial place until it is all paid for....so it has been a little over 4 yrs, but its finally there!  Its beautiful and in Mom's favorite color of blue!!  Barbara helped make this all happen, she really is an incredible woman, wife, mother and we are all grateful that she loves our mother because she loves Dad!!!

No words needed.....

General Conference weekend....

photo by: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
I love General Conference and look forward to it twice a year!!  It's such a great way to get spiritually rejuvenated!!  The kids decided to come on Saturday to watch with us and spend the day....love that!  Charlotte is a hand full now....but so cute you don't mind!!  lol!!  She loved the singing though and always stopped whatever she was doing and went right up to the T.V. when they choir was singing!!

After the afternoon session we have decided to start a new tradition of where to eat....we found a Mooyah's in Burleson!!  Oh, my gosh it is so good and they have 5 items/meals that are under 600 calories...which is awesome and we love places that have lighter items on their menus and the calories all figured out for you!!

Then while the men watched the Priesthood Session, the girls (Allison, Aileen, and I) went to see the movie "Gravity" with George Clooney and Sandra Bullock....its an intense movie, its not one to see to be relaxed or be stress free....but it was so good and Aileen was so good at it!!  And I know Aileen liked it being just the big girls and not that silly Charlotte......Aileen is a funny one!!

Friday games....

This last Friday night we decided to go to both of John's games he was working at Burleson High School!  This is the first football game we've been able to attend, now that Charlotte is not quarantined any longer!  First we went to the Lady Elks Volley Ball game....they really are good and fun to watch!!

Then we trucked across the parking lot to the football field to watch the football game!  There were some exciting plays to watch and we stayed until Aileen started getting too tired....about 10:00 pm then later found out that there was really more exciting stuff that happened even though they lost...and Alan was a little bummed!  Sorry Dad, we should have toughed it out!  Its fun to have teams to cheer for again!

We are also planning on taking family pictures this weekend (Alan, Lois, and Aileen) and while we are at it, we are going to try to take new pictures of Allison, John, and Charlotte so Allison was wondering what Charlotte had to wear.....I gave her this outfit at her baby shower so we tried it on, now that its fall to see if it might work....and it does fit, and I think she looks darling in it (we didn't put her shirt on underneath yet, since we were just trying on to see, but I think its great!!  Allison thinks I'm crazy and probably wouldn't even have bought this outfit in a million years....but I love it and I love Gymboree!!
